Another trick to enter the charts number 1

To continue the previous posts, here's another one I forgot.
Record companies can often start a hype around a song. They do so by sending demo's to the radio stations, DJs and VJs. They start playing the song for a few weeks but the CD isn't available yet in the shops. So everybody has to order them.
Once the backorders are let's say around a few thousand, they release the single to the shops. Everybody then goes over to buy it and voila, the artist sold incredibly much in one week! Good for a top 3 notation, good for airplay, good for the record company and the artist...

So what do you think about this, is this fair? Is this cool or cheap?
